Absence – Leave – Late Arrival in School
- Parents and guardians are encouraged to fathom that uninterrupted attendance is imperative to a student’s academic excellence and holistic growth. While we entrust that leave will be sought only when absolutely unavoidable, a formal application remains a mandatory requirement for any absence.
Permission for leave is granted exclusively under the following circumstances:-- Compassionate Grounds: In the solemn event of a serious illness or the demise of a close relative.
- Administrative Discretion: Any exceptional exigency deemed appropriate by the school authorities.
- Please be advised that, to preserve educational continuity, leave shall not be sanctioned for a duration exceeding three days.
- Students shall not be permitted to attend class after the period of leave unless the Record for Non-Attendance has been duly filled and signed by the parents in the school almanac.
- A student returning to school after recovery from any infectious or contagious disease must submit a ‘medical fitness certificate’ issued by a registered medical practitioner, certifying that the student is fit to resume regular school activities. Furthermore, students afflicted with the following illnesses are required to observe the prescribed period of quarantine prior to rejoining school:
- Chicken Pox: Until all scabs have completely fallen off.
- Cholera: Until full recovery has been certified.
- Measles: Two weeks after the complete disappearance of the rash.
- Mumps: Until the swelling has fully subsided, approximately one month.
- Whooping Cough: Six weeks.
- Jaundice: Six weeks.
- If a student requires medical care during school hours, he or she will be directed to the school infirmary, provided they carry the ‘School Infirmary Record’ page in the almanac, duly signed by the teacher.
- Consistency in attendance is a cornerstone of our academic discipline. Continuous absence for more than six consecutive days without prior authorization or valid explanation renders a student liable for removal from the school rolls. Re-admission remains at the sole discretion of the Principal and will require the settlement of a fresh admission fee.
- All leaves must be sanctioned in writing prior to their commencement. In instances where absence is necessitated by health issues, a legitimate medical certificate must be furnished. To ensure the safety and security of our students, half-day leaves are strictly prohibited. In cases of genuine emergency, written clearance must be obtained from the Principal. Furthermore, both the Class Teacher and the Bus In-charge must be notified if the student avails school transportation.
- To maintain academic standing, students must achieve a minimum of 75% attendance per semester. This requirement may only be relaxed under exceptional medical circumstances. For any medical absence exceeding three days, a parental letter accompanied by a formal medical certificate is mandatory. In all other instances of absence, a letter must be promptly submitted to the Class Teacher.
- Schedule Adjustments:
The School Management reserves the right to amend school timings as circumstances warrant. - Punctuality and Late Arrival:
The school gates shall close precisely at the time stipulated on the school notice board. To foster a culture of discipline, students arriving late will be denied entry and appropriate disciplinary measures may be enacted. - Withdrawal Procedures
Notice of Withdrawal:
Parents intending to withdraw their ward must provide one full calendar month’s written notice or alternatively, remit one month’s fee in lieu of such notice. Students departing mid-session are required to pay fees for the final month of attendance. The Transfer Certificate (T.C.) shall be withheld until all financial obligations and dues are fully settled.
Caution Money:
Caution Money must be claimed within three years of the withdrawal notice, otherwise, the amount shall be forfeited to the school fund.
