General Guidelines

The school lays great emphasis on discipline. The following are regarded as a breach of school discipline:

  • Dereliction of duty, disobedience and disregard of the school rules
  • Lack of decorum, including words or actions that may tarnish the reputation and dignity of any child or the school

Immorality, insubordination or contempt of authority, gross misconduct or causing damage to school property are always sufficient reasons for punitive action to be taken immediately by the school authority.

  1. Parents are requested to refrain from entering classrooms or meeting their children and teachers during school hours.
  2. Parents are required to notify the school office immediately of any change in their residential address, contact numbers or other relevant information.
  3. Children, when sick, should not be sent to school to attend classes. The parents cannot hold the institution responsible for any claims arising through illness and accident. Even on days of assessments if sick, parents to take a judicious call regarding sending their child to school keeping in view not only the well-being of their child but of all the children.
  4. Parents’ attention is drawn to the fact that criticism of the school or teacher in the presence of a child should be strictly avoided, for such expressions risk eroding the student’s respect for educators, thereby diminishing the capacity to learn and hindering academic advancement.
  5. Parents can meet the Principal on stipulated days, after taking prior appointment.
  6. Parents can meet the Teachers on stipulated days, after taking prior appointment.
  7. The presence of both parents along with their ward is compulsory at Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs). In the event of unavoidable absence, the Class Teacher must be informed in advance. Students are required to attend PTMs in proper school uniform. A respectable Code of Conduct should be maintained and punctuality should be ensured during such meetings.
  8. Any communication made by the parent / guardian should be addressed to the Class Teacher. The Name of the Student, Class, Section, Admission No., Address, Phone No., should be clearly mentioned in the application on an A4 sheet.
  9. Parents should sign the progress report card and return it to the Class Teacher on the next working day. If lost / damaged, a replacement will be made after the payment of the required fine of Rs.100 at the Administrative Office.
  10. The name, Admission No., class, section and house of the pupil should be clearly marked on all belongings of the students for e.g. blazers, ties, jerseys, skirts, House T Shirts, socks, shoes, bags, scarves, etc.
  11. Parents are expected to cooperate with the school in fostering their child’s overall progress by ensuring regular attendance, punctuality and discipline and by taking an active interest in their child’s academic work. They should check the SRM portal and almanac every day and note the instructions given. They are advised to check the bags of their wards to see if any circular / notice / invitation etc. has been issued. Parents are also requested to acknowledge the communication sheet in the school almanac by signing.
  12. Students are expected to take care of all school property and in case of any damage, it will be made good by the concerned student together with a fine imposed for the offence. This decision is at the sole discretion of the School Management.
  13. Students are not allowed to wear jewellery. Girls are allowed to wear only a pair of small rings / studs on both the ears. The use of nail polish / mehendi / tattoos / kajal / hair dye or any form of cosmetic adornment is strictly prohibited under all circumstances.
  14. Students are advised not to carry cash to school and are strictly prohibited from bringing valuable or expensive items such as mobile phones, costly watches, fountain pens, transistors, electronic gadgets, cameras, calculators or jewellery.  In case of loss of valuables or other articles, the authorities will try their best to trace the items but shall not undertake any responsibility for the loss or replacement.
  15. It is compulsory for all students to attend school on the first day of the beginning of a semester / after each vacation and the last day before the end of a semester / beginning of a vacation. Non-compliance with this regulation shall invite strict disciplinary action by the school authorities. Prior permission must be obtained for pre-planned leaves like marriages, pujas, festivals, etc.
  16. Parent–Teacher Interactions are conducted at regular intervals to facilitate formal discussions regarding the academic progress and related aspects of the student. Parents are encouraged to attend these interactions personally and interact with the faculty.
  17. Parents are requested not to contact the Co-ordinator or teachers over phone. Meetings with the Co-ordinator and teachers can be arranged only during the designated ‘Visiting Hours’.
  18. Parents are required to carry their wards’ Escort Card and personally accompany them to and from the bus stop.
  19. Parents are requested to first consult the school calendar, date sheets and other circulars before making enquiries over phone.
  20. Parents and guardians must read and explain the school rules to their wards.
  21. Strict disciplinary action will be taken against students found using unfair means during examinations.
  22. If a student is unable to appear for an assessment due to absence from school, re-assessment will be conducted solely at the discretion of the school authorities.
  23. The collection and distribution of lunch packets and other personal belongings is not the responsibility of the school and is therefore not permitted. However, in case of an emergency, the school will provide a small snack to the child.
  24. Students are not permitted to bring gifts, presents, return gifts to school to mark their own or others’ birthdays or on any other occasion. At the most, a student may distribute two toffees (e.g., éclairs) per student within his/her section. No gifts, toffees, chocolates should be sent for the Principal/  Coordinator/ Class Teacher/ Subject Teachers/ non-teaching staff.
  25. Students are required to wear the prescribed school uniform even on their birthdays.
  26. Parents are requested to carry the Escort Card/Identity Card with them while visiting the school for any function organised by the school. If either of the cards is damaged or lost, an application along with one / two identical photo(s) has to be submitted to the office and the parent will be issued a temporary Identity / Escort Card, as the case may be. Further, parents shall be required to pay Rs. 50/- per Identity Card / Escort Card at the school office. Further loss of the ID card will need intimation to the Principal, in case the student is in high school or else to the Head-mistress. Rs.100/- per Identity Card / Escort Card will be charged for a replacement and strict action will be initiated. A local GD must be made and submitted along with the request for a new escort card.
  27. Our school is a plastic-free zone. Parents are requested not to send or bring any items, including tiffin boxes, stationery, craft materials or similar articles to school in polythene bags.
  28. The tuition fee must be paid quarterly in advance, on or before the 10th day of the first month of each quarter. In the event of late payment, a fine will be levied as per the prescribed norms. The final date for payment is the 15th day of the third month of the quarter, after which the student’s name will be struck off from the school register.

  1. Parents / Guardians are requested not to approach teachers for private tuition for their wards. If any student is found to be involved in such practices and strict disciplinary action will be taken against both the parties concerned. If any kind of help is required, parents or guardians are requested to get in touch with the Principal and any such assistance will be considered subject to the convenience and discretion of the school and / or the teacher.
